Governor Macquarie Building, Sydney

The Governor Macquarie Tower was the Grollos second major contract in Sydney. It was the second stage of the $500 million redevelopment that included the Governor Phillip Tower.

This significant redevelopment on the site of Australia's first Government House was an important project in the prestigious north-east section of Sydney's CBD.

Designed by architects Denton Corker Marshall and built by Grocon, Governor Macquarie Tower achieved new standards in finish quality and design.

Governor Macquarie Tower stands at 47 storeys and is adjacent and south of Governor Phillip Tower. Like Governor Phillip Tower, it features a classic fa├žade of polished granite and glass with stainless steel detail. However, its form and size are significantly different; Governor Macquarie Tower has a staggered roof, rather than dramatic, sheer lines.

The main entry to both buildings is through an impressive foyer on Farrer Place. This links the two buildings and provides another entrance from Phillip Street.
